FISHING BRAID, LINE, SINKERS & SWIVELS

When it comes to fishing Tackle, eg swivels, clips, lure clips, floats, hooks, sinkers, bait jigs, soft beads, whiting tubes, lure wraps, fishing line and leader the biggest advancement has been in braided lines. When it comes to sinkers & swivels not too much has changed.

Braid Fishing Line

Braided line offers the angler superior feel. It will give you the ability to use heavier lines in deeper water and maintain contact with your rig so that you can feel the fish biting. Braided thinner lines make for better casting. Braided line is now accepted as the main style of line used throughout our region. 

Hooks

When it comes to hooks, the biggest change has been the inclusion of circle hooks in the recreational sector. Circle hooks were once only used by the commercial sector.  The other advancement for hooks has been the inclusion of chemically sharpened hooks which results in a sharper hook that gives better penetration and fish-catching ability.
